The Colorado Water Issues Committee was formed to inform and educate the Lower Colorado River Authority and its stakeholders about rice production in Colorado, Wharton and Matagorda counties.
CWIC works to ensure adequate and reliable supplies of water are available from the Colorado River to irrigate the area’s rice fields, regardless of weather conditions.

CWIC works with LCRA, elected officials and the general public to create and enforce sound policies and wise management of the Colorado River. The committee is a non-profit corporation, which is exempt under section 501 (C) (5) IRS Code of 1986.
